Summary

We are seeking a skilled Template Technician to join our team at Dauter Stone Inc. This position plays a vital role in the accurate measurements of customer countertops and is the first critical step of our manufacturing processes. Located in Calgary, this role is essential for upholding our standards of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Template Creation:

Use digital templating systems and CAD software to generate precise templates for stone countertops, aligning with customer specifications.

Equipment Operation:

Proficiently operate measuring tools (2D/3D Laser Templator)

Communication and Coordination:

Collaborate with customers, contractors, and team members for an efficient workflow. Engage with project coordinators, fabricators, schedulers, and installers to address specific requirements and resolve measurement-related issues.

Quality Control:

Verify the accuracy and quality of templates through meticulous review. Address discrepancies or potential issues that could impact fabrication and installation processes.

Site Evaluation:

Conduct on-site evaluations to gather project scope details and assess installation feasibility.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain comprehensive records, including measurement reports, template specifications, and any modifications. Provide accurate documentation to support project managers, fabrication, and installation teams.

Requirements

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong communication, note taking & listening abilities. Excellent time management and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining efficient, quality work. Collaborative and team-oriented mindset to ensure that templating requirements are met and that any discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner. Experience in operating laser templating equipment is an asset. Must have a valid driver's license and a clean record. Intermediate mathematical & computer skills using Microsoft office products, AutoCAD and the ability to learn other software programs Basic understanding of plumbing an asset. Ability to handle challenging situations with diplomacy and respect. Be highly motivated, hardworking, reliable, and possess an outgoing and friendly attitude while willing to work independently as well as part of a team. Adhere to safety protocols and best practices while working at customer sites and handling equipment. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is preferred. Proven experience in a related field, with a strong understanding of measurement techniques and tools. Familiarity with laser templating equipment and digital templating software is advantageous. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues during the templating process.
