QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following qualifications and experience:
Grade 12 graduation or equivalent
Experience working with children and/or youth
Experience working with children and/or youth with special needs would be considered an asset
Post-secondary training in educational assistant, exceptionality worker, special education assistant, early childhood education, or a related field would be considered an asset
Experience working with neuro-diverse young children, assisting with activities such as lifting, toileting, and/or facilitating physical therapy exercises would be an asset.
Experience using and/or assisting with assistive technology (ex; AAC device, Clicker 8, Google Read & Write) would be an asset
Experience working in a Yukon First Nations setting and in teaching First Nations students would be an asset
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:
The ideal candidate will possess these qualifications, skills, and knowledge, but also demonstrate suitability for the role and organizational culture:
Familiarity with Tr'ondek Hwech'in culture and in teaching First Nations students;
Ability to work effectively with students, teachers and parents;
Adaptability to cope with a wide variety of situations;
Ability to work as a member of a team;
Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments;
Ability to work with minimal supervision.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Successful applicants will be required to undergo a security clearance including vulnerable sector check.
Standard First Aid Certificate or a willingness to complete within 3 months
