About the Role
This is not your average teller job, and it's not a passive customer service role. You'll be the face of the company, often working solo at our physical storefront. You'll need to juggle high-stakes responsibilities across three demanding areas:
Customer Service & Sales
Compliance & Fraud Prevention
Cash Handling & Transaction Execution
These priorities don't always align neatly -- you'll need to navigate grey areas, balance risk with customer experience, and know when to say yes, when to say no, and how to say it.
Key Responsibilities:
Frontline Sales & Service
Greet and serve walk-in customers professionally and with empathy
Explain our products and pricing clearly to both beginners and pros
Upsell products and close sales with confidence
Handle discount requests and price negotiations with tact and assertiveness
De-escalate tense situations and resolve customer conflicts diplomatically
Represent the brand with integrity, professionalism, and patience
Compliance & Risk Monitoring
Verify customer IDs and documents according to KYC/AML standards
Assess wallet addresses and transaction patterns for risk
Identify fraud attempts, scams, or unusual behavior
Document and escalate concerns to our compliance team
Follow procedures to the letter -- no shortcuts
Cash & Crypto Handling
Accurately count, handle, and reconcile large volumes of physical cash
Confirm wallet addresses and manage crypto sends/receives without error
Maintain a secure, organized, and professional retail environment
Operate independently with minimal supervision
The Balancing Act
Some customers want speed and flexibility. Compliance demands caution and structure. Sales requires rapport and persuasion. Risk management requires skepticism and discipline.
You must be able to do all of it -- and know how to balance customer satisfaction with regulatory obligations. This role is a constant exercise in critical thinking, people skills, and judgment.
Who We're Looking For
You must meet
all
of the following:
Experience in customer-facing roles, preferably with sales or negotiation components
Experience in financial services, cash handling, or regulatory environments
Extremely high attention to detail -- especially with documentation, numbers, and process
Familiarity with Bitcoin and cryptocurrency basics
Comfortable handling cash and operating independently in a high-trust environment
Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
Able to manage high-pressure situations with minimal supervision
Available for full-time, in-person work in Vancouver, and legally entitled to work in Canada

Background in AML, fraud prevention, or investigations
Comfort with compliance tools, or blockchain explorers
Fluent in more than one language
Prior experience in high-value retail or negotiation-heavy sales roles
