Telecom Technician

Responsibilities

Equipment installation / build / maintenance / upgrade / decommission of telecommunications network infrastructure and site Year-round, hands-on work on outdoor cell sites / data centres along with other indoor facilities Working with structured cabling/ installation drops and POE Customers include - Bell, Rogers, Telus, Freedom, Nokia Experienced with general Telecom construction including installation of equipment, steel mounts, cabinets, fibre optic / data / power cable systems, cable tray, conduit, microwave, testing, batteries, grounding systems Telecom [wireless / wireline experience] testing / commissioning / integration, working knowledge of safety standards and regulations, basic knowledge of electrical safety.

Qualifications

1-3 years Canadian or international experience Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. Good English skills both written and oral, ability to follow direction and work well within a team Able to follow technical documents, blueprints and engineered drawings Valid drivers license and clean abstract required Manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude for proficient use of power tools and equipment Comfortable working at heights -climbing at 15-20ft on ladders

Success in the Role

Possess manual dexterity to complete fine motor tasks. Ability to travel as needed; must possess a valid driver's license. Understand and adhere to NEC, ANSI/TIA, BICSI, and local building codes, standards. Ability to work alone, with strong multi-tasking skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Work Environment

Regular hours are 7:00-3:00PM,8:00 am - 4:00 pm or 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, however some flexibility is required (nights may be required at times). Work outside, at heights or in confined spaces Heavy lifting, manual work and proficient use of installation tool

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
