Telecom Equipment Operator

West Connect Infrastructure is looking for hard working team players with operational experience on a variety of Telecom construction equipment including hydrovac experience. Adherence to safety processes and procedures is essential. Locations vary; this position is for Central BC.

This is a full-time position, working on a shift rotation of 14 days on and 7 days off.

Responsibilities

Operation of Rival hydrovac, backhoes, mini plows, excavators and various other equipment used in telecom civil construction. Physical ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50 lbs in a safe manner. Understanding and interpreting utility locates and construction work prints. Ensures safety practices are being adhered to on site. Working in a team environment with a collaborative attitude. Keeping equipment in good working order and reporting deficiencies to the supervisor. Capable of working outside in all weather conditions Positive attitude-self motivator. Ability to interface with clients and Municipal representatives.

Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience operating a hydrovac, Rival preferred, and equipment operation plus a desire to learn. Previous experience in telecom installation will be considered an asset. Ability to track and communicate daily progress and time reporting to supervisor.
