Telecom Equipment Operator West Connect Infrastructure is looking for hard working team players with operational experience on a variety of Telecom construction equipment. Adherence to safety processes and procedures is essential. Locations vary; this position is for the Connected Coast Project which delivers fibre optic solutions to multiple communities throughout BC. This is a full-time position, working on a shift rotation of 14 days on and 7 days off. Responsibilities
- Operation of backhoes, mini plows, excavators and various other equipment used in telecom civil construction.
- Physical ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50 lbs in a safe manner.
- Understanding and interpreting utility locates and construction work prints.
- Ensures safety practices are being adhered to on site.
- Working in a team environment with a collaborative attitude.
- Keeping equipment in good working order and reporting deficiencies to the supervisor.
- Capable of working outside in all weather conditions
- Positive attitude-self motivator.
- Ability to interface with clients and Municipal representatives.
- At least 2 years of experience in equipment operation and a desire to learn.
- Previous experience in telecom installation will be considered an asset.
- Ability to track and communicate daily progress and time reporting to supervisor.
