We are hiring experienced temporary Heavy Equipment Operators for our mining team in Fort McMurray. Do you have a strong safety mindset and want to gain a rewarding experience in the oil sands industry? We\xe2\x80\x99d love to hear from you!

As a heavy equipment operator, you will have the opportunity to become a dedicated contributor to our oil sands mining operations operating ultra class haul trucks.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least one year experience with operating equipment (haul trucks, wiggle wagon, dozers, loaders, graders and excavators) in industries such as mining, civil earthworks, pipelines, sawmills, pulp and paper mills or manufacturing, or highway construction
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) or 10+ years of relevant mining experience
  • A valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence and a 2 year clean drivers abstract
Responsibilities:
  • Participate in our safety programs by operating safely and driving to conditions
  • Complete walk-arounds, safety checks and field level risk assessments
  • Follow our operating standards, policies, practices and procedures
  • Operate various makes and models of mining heavy equipment
  • Report all incidents, damage and near misses immediately
  • Communicate updates to your supervisor to ensure that you meet all goals and objectives
Location and other Key Details:
  • You will work out of our Syncrude Aurora site in Fort McMurray
  • The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts)
  • This is a temporary assignment with a remaining duration of up to 2024, depending on business need
  • This position is safety sensitive
