TD Technology Delivery covers planning and delivery of projects or services within segment CIO groups. While investing heavily in nurturing business, client and partner relationships for end-to-end delivery of technology solutions or services, these professionals also oversee and directly manage multiple specialized functional teams (e.g. Application Development, Solutions Designers, Business Systems Analysts, Support, Project Management etc.) and seamlessly manage ongoing infrastructure support and shared services to segment CIOs, business leaders and various TD stakeholders. Let's not forget they communicate the technology organization's overall book of work and manage stakeholder expectations. It's a big and busy mandate. There's room to grow in all of it.

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate related to IT/Software/Management. Graduate Degree related to IT/Software/Management will be preferred.
  • 7+ years relevant experience and have experience of managing end to end technology delivery of small and medium size project ($1 Million+) and associated project challenges.
  • Experience with Saleforce.com CRM technology. Sales, Service or Financial Services cloud preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of business and bank technology standards (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, processes, applications, platforms, services) and managing people and projects.
  • Facilitate decisions with respect to solution, architecture and potential options & risks which will have downstream impact in cost and scalability.
  • Lead the creation and delivery of the end-to-end technical solution in technologies mentioned above.
  • Participate in business planning discussion and define the technology delivery approach, including cross applications/teams' integration, and/or release co-ordination.
  • Ensure the alignment of solution design to comply with enterprise standards and meet enterprise or segment TS strategic direction (e.g. Target Operating Model; enterprise assets)
  • Provide technical support for escalated incidents to ensure they are resolved efficiently and communicate to project manager and business partners
  • Look for opportunities to minimize any negative Run the bank (RTB) impact
  • Knowledge of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to your own business.
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and projects with increasing degree of complexity and broad scope (e.g., multi-function within business line).
  • Willingness, motivation and ability to work independently (and autonomously) in the management of projects, teams and operational discipline, and can develop strategic thinking and planning throughout work plan execution (short- to medium-term business perspective).
  • Proficiency in managing system enhancements, new releases or projects of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Readiness to manage or lead a group (e.g., ~10-15 people) for project outcome (e.g., developers, analysts, specialists, administrators, project managers).
  • Ability to demonstrate the technical solutions design in interview process (includes architecture, security, data considerations).
  • Experience in new digital technologies such cloud, analytics, no-sql databases, etc. is preferred.
  • Agile Delivery Experience.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the business or acumen to pick up the business knowledge of banking.
  • Experience with estimation models and ability to guide team to come with end to end estimations.
  • Design and develop resolutions, plans and strategies for operational advancement.

About This Role

We are looking for someone to manage regulatory projects for Business Banking. Your role would be to work with IT professionals across segments within the broader technology teams to drive the scoping, planning and delivery of functions required to deliver on the regulatory initiative from a Business Banking lens. You will spend some of your time facilitating and developing technology forecasts and total cost estimates and deliverables with the business and internal partners. Your expertise and strength in providing strategic counsel and technical leadership will be an asset in this role. If you like a challenge regulatory project bring many challenges with them with a great opportunity to engage with many partners within the bank. The desired candidate for this role will possess strong leadership skills, technical skills and collaboration skills.

Here's some of what you may be asked to perform:
  • Manage cross-functional team of IT professionals to support assigned partner requirements and help them to make technology decisions.
  • Establish day-to-day management direction, define priorities and strategies consistent with business goals and aligned to the technology leadership team's direction.
  • Communicate business vision, goals and portfolio priorities to team members (e.g. Application Owners / Development Managers, Business Systems Analysis, Platform / Service and/or Project Managers etc.).
  • Work with project managers to ensure they comply with the capacity forecasting process; report on portfolio progress, status, overall health and individual applications from technology perspective.
  • Assess issues or change requests, determine what to report.
  • Manage vendor relationships, communicate promptly and accurately, resolve issues, monitor financials (e.g. against contracts).
  • Consistency present and Communicate with executives in efficient manner and OWN the project outcome and drive the Target Operating Model (TOM) for the bank.
  • Engage with IT leadership to reinforce focus on reusability, scalability and enterprise-wide solutions (and to maximize returns on product suites).
  • Track deliverables; share updates; support initiatives aimed at cost reduction and faster time-to- market.
  • Ensure there's understanding of operational, reputational, and intellectual risks, advise to minimize, escalate if necessary.
  • Know the competition, customer and industry trends, innovation; pinpoint relevant research opportunities.
  • Maintain high level of customer service, ensure commitments are met; recommend appropriate actions to enhance service levels, through effective service level management practices/ agreements.
  • Ensure business requirement understanding and apply knowledge to prioritize new and existing project delivery.
