Description
To respond to the priorities of the Government of Ontario through the passage of the Bill 5, Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act 2025, the resource may be partially assigned to Bill 5 related projects or initiatives on an as needed basis.
Responsibilities Develops, recommends, implements and manages the technical architecture (hardware, software, database and communications) which will be used for all or specific applications in a large, distributed cross-platform environment.
"This position is listed as "Onsite"; the resource is expected to work 7.25 hours per calendar day between the standard working hours of 8:00-5:00 PM (excluding lunch breaks) every Monday to Friday inclusive at the identified OPS office location".
10+ years of experience leading multi-tier application infrastructure design, documentation and configuration for medium or large corporate implementations
Knowledge and experience with a wide range of methods, techniques and tools for business architecture such as, but not limited to: business functional modeling, service lifecycle modeling, business event modeling, business process mapping, value chain analysis, and other related disciplines
Experience in completing business architectures in government settings or similar complex, multi-project/multi-client organizations
Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
Knowledge and experience of information technology providing the ability to integrate and identify IT-enabled opportunities to solve business pressures/needs
Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, consensus building, and problem-solving skills
Experience in modeling solution requirements, design and components for enterprise scale COTS solutions, Oracle Siebel preferred
Knowledge of Zachman Framework including business / information / application / technology / security architectures
Provides leadership, guidance and support to the project team and subject matter experts; creates and maintains all models/artefacts/diagrams as it relates to establishing a shared use solution.
Analyzes and approves various design and implementation approaches with respect to different interface touch points. Also works with various technical teams while building interface touch points with Siebel.
Evaluates different technology options and makes informed decisions based on cost, compatibility, and industry best practices; recommends the most suitable technologies that align with the organization's long-term vision
Updates, develops and validates all required business architecture and solution/technical architecture models/artefacts, documents and materials (according to industry best practices, GO-ITS standards and OPS EA guidelines using the appropriate version)
Collaborates with cluster staff, project teams, clients and other OPS partners / service providers to ensure architecture alignment
Defines the structure and relationship among technical solutions, including the identification of re-usable components, quality level metrics, the organization and layering of software, and the determination of interfaces.
Leads privacy impact assessment (PIA) and threat risk assessment (TRA) activities in collaboration with cluster staff, technical team members and other partners as required; including responding to and/or actioning any risk recommendations or mitigations that may follow
Arranges and facilitates Enterprise Architecture (EA) meetings with cluster staff, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders as required
Supports the process of acquiring cluster and corporate approvals such as Project Gating, LRC cluster governance processes, corporate architecture governance points (AGP), digital first assessments
Adhere to all OPS GO-ITS Standards, specifically GO-ITS 56.0, GO-ITS 56.1, GO-ITS 56.3 and others as required
