Major Activities of the Job:

Development and technology transfer of new media processes:

Collaborate with Global Bioprocess Development (GBD) to develop production processes for new & novel media.

Support the transfer and / or implementation of new technologies /equipment/ processes for media production which may be transferred locally from the GBD platforms into GCM or originate from within the GCM.

Provide feedback during the development process to ensure that the new process is compatible with GCM capabilities and transferable to

GMP production.

Assist with raw material sourcing.

Assist with the preparation of reports summarizing experimental and assay results to be disseminated to supervisor and external customers.

Act as SME and designated trainer when transferring in a new process.

Manufacturing of media and solutions for process development and clinical manufacturing:

Perform all the activities linked to GMP and development media and solutions manufacturing.

o raw materials stock management

o all stages of media preparation: weighing, dissolution, filtration, final dispensing, sampling

o preparations of sterile media in single use closed systems.

o all associated traceability for media production, in the tools (such as iShift) and in the batch record.

o Use of aseptic processing equipment, including disposable closed systems, aseptic connectors and tube welders and sealers.

Participate in improvement initiatives linked to media & solutions area.

Support for compliance and maintenance of GMP areas:

Support compliance and maintenance activities in GCM facilities. This may include:

cleaning of equipment and work surfaces

utility sampling (WFI, steam, and compressed air) understanding and performance of environmental monitoring.

may also include as required support for washing, sterilizing and decontamination of materials and equipment.

may also include support for facility and equipment maintenance.

Cross train and support other production areas as needed.

Preparation of documents:

Creation and update of SOPs.

Authoring of master BPRs.

Review of validation protocols and reports.

Preparation of Manufacturing Record Files (MRFs).

Document development experiments in draft BPRs.

Assist with preparation of summary reports.

Help to maintain inventories through tracking, cycle counting, forecasting and ordering.

Support GMP production of clinical materials:

Cross train in other GCM facilities to support GMP production of the clinical materials through common activities.

environmental monitoring

utility sampling

sample aliquoting.

BCC work.

filtration and filter integrity testing

Perform transactions in iShift S/4 HANA

Ordering and maintaining inventory of shared materials.

Be compliant with employment and health & safety legislation and work within the policies, procedures and regulations:

Takes every reasonable precaution to ensure the health and safety for self and co-workers.

Uses required protective equipment and clothing.

Reports critical incidents and accidents to the appropriate authorities.

Participates in the investigation of incidents and work-related illnesses Responds promptly to all health and safety concerns or incidents and

completes the appropriate documentation in a timely manner.

Cooperates and assists the Joint Health and Safety Committee that is carrying out its functions.

Participates and contributes to the PASS objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum three (3) to four (4) years University, bachelor\'s degree (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biological or Physical Sciences), plus a minimum of two (2) years previous relevant work experience.

Preferred one (1) to two (2) years University Master\'s degree (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biological or Physical Sciences) plus a minimum of one (1) year previous relevant work experience.
