Shield Consulting Engineers is looking for an Architectural Technologist or Technician to join their team and expand our rapidly growing residential, commercial & industrial team. The ideal candidate for this position will be a well organized, detail oriented and self-motivated person, working as part of an integrated team providing design & drafting services to our diverse client base.
This position would offer opportunities for further career development and growth. In this position, you will:

• Create drawings in the architectural and structural engineering disciplines for commercial and residential markets.
• Coordinate, review, and revise drawings, specifications and details to ensure that all documentation complies with the OBC and Shield\xe2\x80\x99s standards for building permit application and construction.
• Work cross-collaboratively with the team to prepare all drawings, including preliminary sketch creation and construction drawings.
• Perform site visits for general reviews of construction and collect site measurements which may include using our cutting-edge laser scanning technology.

Qualifications and skill sets:

• Post-secondary education related to Architectural Technology; BCIN considered an asset.
• Proficient and well-versed in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Must be detail oriented and have excellent time management skills.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Must have exceptional written and oral communications skills with the ability to convey detailed technical information to managers, clients and peers.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, take and provide direction from others to ensure the supply of quality deliverables.

Architectural Technologist to add to our team of professionals to further enhance our offering to a variety of industries including but not limited to: mining, pulp & paper, steel making, marine as well as residential and commercial clients. We specialize in providing maintenance engineering support to keep existing industrial facilities and infrastructure operational, as well as executing Brownfield projects to upgrade existing infrastructure.
