Through warehouse clubs, food-service and wholesale distributors and janitorial-supply companies, AFH supplies quality paper-based solutions to the accommodation, food service, property management and healthcare sectors.The Technical Services Manager will deploy the capital investment program and ensure its relevance, performance and quality. The incumbent will ensure efficient implementation of the most relevant solutions for the Trenton and Scarborough sites. The Engineering department supports operations by providing technical and creative solutions which allow them to meet the objective of being a low cost provider of quality products in a safe and respectful environment.

• Establish and maintain clear capital procedures based on company policy and provide guidance regarding sound capital investing which will provide desired return on those investments.
• Develop and improve the process for implementation of new projects, including training, risk analysis and selection of spare parts.
• Develop short and long-range programs to improve the operations of the Scarborough and Trenton sites.
• Maintain relations with members of the management and supervisor teams to promote collaboration between departments and be on the lookout for continuous improvement opportunities within operations implementing the necessary structures to seize the benefits.
• Involve all stakeholders in finding relevant solutions to selected problems / organizational objective, ensuring specification are aligned with the requirements of internal customers and current legal requirements.
• Strengthen the team spirit of the engineering departments by providing opportunities to sharing best practices between sites, while looking for opportunities to increase engagement in your own department.
• Clearly define roles, responsibilities, and expectations for the engineers in your department.
• Develop the skills of the team through development and targeted training.
• Promote the OHS vision and mission, by ensuring all H&S procedures and regulations are known, understood, and continually put into practice. The department will participate and review relevant investigations. Engineering will support H&S by leading by example, communicating safety notices, promoting the reduction of risks and participating in auditing and other H&S initiatives.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor of Engineering
