juice for both the retail and foodservice industries.We are seeking a flexible and adaptable leader to join us as a Technical Sanitation Scientist in Grand
Falls, NB. Reporting to the Site Food Safety and Quality Manager, the successful candidate will provide
critical leadership in sanitation and sanitary design at the manufacturing site. This position is
instrumental in the development and implementation of standards and policies designed to ensure site
processes, equipment, and facilities may be cleaned and sanitized in order to maintain product safety
and quality. This position will collaborate closely with operations and engineering to execute objectives
and activities against McCain requirements. This position will drive vision, purpose and communicate
effectively expectations and trends to ensure stakeholders manage site sanitation and food safety
efforts at facilities and are given proper tools and guidance to produce desired results.Key Responsibilities:
\xef\x82\xb7 Develop and maintain site sanitation standards and policies for wet and dry cleaning operations
in alignment with Corporate policies and procedures
\xef\x82\xb7 Work cross functionally and collaboratively with all plant operations, Corporate QFS, Chemical
Vendors, 3rd party sanitation providers and others to implement, direct and continuously
improve sanitation programs and policies at the manufacturing site
\xef\x82\xb7 Monitor key sanitation metrics (such as chemical usage, MSS completion percentage (Periodic
Equipment Cleaning [PEC], Periodic Infrastructure Cleaning [PIC]) and sanitation effectiveness)
at the manufacturing facility to identify, react to emerging issues and implement preventive
actions.
\xef\x82\xb7 Track, analyze, and develop improvements of plant sanitation and pest elimination programs
\xef\x82\xb7 Support extended cleaning request validations, new line/equipment installation
\xef\x82\xb7 Develop and conduct assessments (deep dives, audits, and inspections) of sanitation systems,
procedures, and manual cleaning practices at plants for compliance to standards and
identification of opportunities for improvement.
\xef\x82\xb7 Assesses/Audits any identified Sanitation Preventive Controls in Food Safety Plans in
collaboration with site food safety
\xef\x82\xb7 Intentionally collaborate cross functionally with Operations, Engineering, EH&S, and
Maintenance in addressing sanitary design issues and risk-based prioritization of capital projects
related to sanitation and food safety.
\xef\x82\xb7 Provide education/training to key stakeholders on sanitation principles
\xef\x82\xb7 Support corrective/preventive actions and root cause analyses when environmental issues are
detected.
\xef\x82\xb7 Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
\xef\x82\xb7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent is preferred, relevant experience will also be considered
\xef\x82\xb7 3 to 5 years of experience in:
o Frozen food manufacturing operations and/or
o Quality experience in food processing
o Ability to coordinate technical knowledge with production activities.
\xef\x82\xb7 Knowledge of root cause analysis tools to be used on sanitation issues.
\xef\x82\xb7 Must have working knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles and practices.
