As ATB's next Release Manager, you will:

  • Schedule, coordinate and manage releases across the enterprise for multiple systems across various portfolios.
  • Releases are inclusive of application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, Projects and Programs.
  • Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
  • Coordinate the creation of plans for the implementation and deployment of individual releases as per the release schedule.
  • Schedule release readiness reviews (currently called Major Change Reviews at ATB) before deployment and milestone reviews after each release
  • Represent upcoming releases at the various change board meetings where required (ie Change Advisory Board, Technical Advisory Board, etc) to discuss the schedules with the team and find roadblocks, if any.
  • Assist with improvements in the methodologies used for configuration management
  • Lead the Go-Live activities to deploy the release successfully.
  • Coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending upon the third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates.
  • Identify the risks that can delay a release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected.
  • Track the process and find issues, if any, always working to improve the process of release.
  • Plan and give weekly updates on the release activities
  • Communicate with release managers from different IT departments.
Requirements
  • 2-5 years of previous release and/or project management experience, (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred)
  • ITIL V4 foundation
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CD/CI) pipelines
  • Experience in working with DevOps and Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of traditional agile methodologies, including Scrum, Waterfall, or Kanban
  • Good understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating system
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
  • Ability to work non-standard hours to coordinate deployments multiple times per month
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of GSuite applications
  • Team and time management skills
