The Technical Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of wind turbine service projects and third-party installation projects. This role combines hands-on technical wind turbine experience with strong people and project management skills.
The successful candidate will lead multiple field crews, manage project execution, and ensure safe, on-time, and high-quality delivery across multiple sites. This individual will play a crucial role in project execution and must possess technical knowledge of wind turbine blade repair techniques.
Position will be Hybrid. Can be located anywhere across Canada but will require travel to MWS office on a regular basis.
Duties
Working closely with the Head of Operations & Maintenance, manage the day-to-day execution of wind turbine service projects across Canada & U.S.
Lead and support 10-15 wind turbine technicians across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client expectations
Act as the primary point of contact between field teams, clients, and internal stakeholders.
Plan project schedules, manpower requirements, and equipment need.
Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor project performance, costs, timelines, and productivity
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary
Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies
Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to field teams when required.
Support mobilization and demobilization activities, including travel logistics.
Prepare project reports, documentation, and close-out packages.
Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, safety practices, and technical standards
Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Carry out risk management to minimize project risks
Facilitate effective communication among team members, stakeholders, vendors, and executive leadership.
Skills
Minimum 5+ years of wind turbine experience, including hands-on field work
Trade certification, engineering background or technical diploma, would be considered an asset
A proactive attitude and strong commitment to work, supported by a solid technical background in project management or related field; an advanced degree or PMP certification would be an asset
OEM or major service provider experience
Proven experience managing wind service projects, in particular blade repair/maintenance and people management
Experience supervising and leading multi-site technician teams
Strong technical knowledge of wind turbine systems and service activities
Experience working on projects across Canada & U.S
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to travel extensively as required
Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficiency with project management tools and reporting systems
First Aid Certification, would be considered an asset
GWO Training would be considered an asset
CSTS-2020, WHMIS-2015
ACSA-LOTO, would be considered an asset

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $105,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
