We are currently seeking a Technical Operations Analyst to join our team.

Position Description

The Technical Operations Analyst job participates as a member of the Infrastructure and Cloud Operations team, applying technical expertise to the installation and maintenance of enterprise platforms, all related infrastructure, and wide and local area networks. This role provides technical expertise to support the effective and efficient operation of the organization's technology solutions to optimize performance and availability for system users.

Here's what would be included as a part of your typical day * Technical Support: Triage and resolve complex issues relating to server operating systems, cloud, virtualization, and hardware using industry standard best practices and documented security standards. Identify and prioritize events, incidents, and requests. Manage expectations while meeting operational SLAs, technical SLOs. Participate in weekly on-call rotation.

  • Installation & Configuration: Installs new and/or rebuilds existing servers and configures hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Conducts performance and capacity planning, ensuring sustainability and stability for all First West IT platforms. Applies and maintains system patch levels for both servers and workstations, including Windows and application patching.
  • Business Solutions: Identifies operational deficiencies and creates efficient and automated procedures where required. Provides a high level of awareness and understanding of business solutions and ensures appropriate monitoring is implemented to pro-actively support solutions provisioned and maintained by IT.
  • Documentation: Develops, maintains, and documents installation and configuration of IT processes and procedures, ensuring documentation is reviewed and kept current.
  • Team Support: Demonstrates depth of knowledge and technical skill, providing guidance and mentoring to other team members, including knowledge transfers, operationalization, and support of new and existing solutions. Provides support to all levels within the IT group ensuring compliance within the framework of policies and standards.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Computer Science/IT required or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years of related work experience required
  • Network designations and certifications are considered an asset, CCNA, AZ-900, and AZ-104
  • Microsoft 365 designations and certifications are considered an asset, MS900, MD-100, MD-101
  • Effective communication skills
  • Analytical and logical thinking / problem solving
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Work closely with partner infrastructure teams and external vendors to restore services and determine root cause of issues
  • Develop documentation on technical processes and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of OSI model and client-server model
  • Knowledge of networking components & concepts such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, SSL, TLS
  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of IT systems, including networks, servers, cloud services, computers, operating systems, hardware, software and peripherals
  • Able to Install, manage and maintain Windows Server environments and roles such as DNS, DHCP.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Work with patch management solution to patch all line of business servers and corporate workstations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (formerly intune)
  • Knowledge and strong ability to configure and manage Windows environments like Azure, Exchange, and M365
  • Working knowledge of backup concepts. Commvault experience considered an asset
  • Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies, guidelines, processes, and procedures.
