The location Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of TECHNICAL MANAGER.Reporting to the Mill Manager, the incumbent will provide strategic direction and leadership to the Technical department; managing department staff in a collaborative, team environment while ensuring safety standards and full compliance to all regulatory requirements are being met.Responsibilities:xc2xb7 Direct all aspects of customer service including customer quality specifications, customer information, complaint response, etc.xc2xb7 Quality control- maintain high quality standards for the produced pulp. Will be instrumental in grade development.xc2xb7 Process Optimization-ensure process is running efficiently and at optimal levels.xc2xb7 Process Engineering--assistance in the development and implementation of operational strategy and/or capital improvements.xc2xb7 Implement measures to improve energy efficiency.xc2xb7 Cost Management-monitor and control operational costs. Direct efforts of engineers and technologists in areas of operating cost, quality control, and process optimization.xc2xb7 Data Analysis and reporting- collect and analyze data to track KPIs.xc2xb7 Establish and maintain appropriate mill-wide environmental programs.xc2xb7 Regulatory compliance-establish and maintain a reporting network with all appropriate regulatory agencies. Meet all regulatory requirements for testing and reporting information as defined in permits and legislation. Obtain necessary permits required to operate the mill.xc2xb7 Overall maintenance of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 programs.xc2xb7Qualifications:xc2xb7 Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant disciplines.xc2xb7 10+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.xc2xb7 2+ years experience in management.xc2xb7 Kraft pulp, TMP, and/or BCTMP knowledge and experience.xc2xb7 Knowledge of product cycle, material acquisition and sales.xc2xb7 Excellent project management and budget management skills.xc2xb7 Strong problem solving to maintain/increase productivity levels to meet agreed targets.xc2xb7 Leadership capabilities with good interpersonal and communication skills.Domtar is firmly committed to placing greater emphasis on the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion to empower all employees to reach their full potential.
