Your Opportunity:

The Technical Lead is a key leadership role within the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre Redevelopment Project Management Office (PMO) team, reporting to the Senior Project Director. This position is responsible and accountable for providing leadership and direction, and technical input in the project planning, design, construction, and commission in anticipation of handing the building over to Capital Management FM&E operations. This position is also responsible for the project technical discipline leads.

Description:

The purpose of this role is to represent AHS Capital Management with the project group lead by Alberta Infrastructure, with Architectural and Engineering consultants, in all aspects of the project with respect to engineering, construction, infrastructure, and commissioning activities. This position requires a strong understanding of all core base building systems for each building on the RDRHC Campus and understanding of the necessary requirements for tying a new building into the campus.

Required Qualifications:

Professional Engineer (registered with APEGA) or a Certified Engineering Technologist (registered with ASET) however a combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:

5 years of related experience in progressively responsible engineering or technical positions with demonstrated management skills and abilities combined with a background in complex healthcare facilities. The ability to communicate effectively with all types of audiences, both verbally and written as well as the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including clinicians, with the capability to inspire confidence with key partners. Evidence of consistently delivering organizational objectives through working in partnerships, joint ventures or collaboration with others, and of building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse and occasionally divergent set of stakeholders (e.g., senior leadership teams, clinicians and Government). A clear strategic vision for capital planning, a proven track record of broad operational management experience and evidence of leading successful change in large health organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:

Prosci Change Management Certificate and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt designations are considered an asset. Minimum 5 to 10 years experience in healthcare projects, maintenance, and building operations within a hospital setting. Experience in commissioning complex mechanical, electrical and controls healthcare systems including integration testing with existing systems and total building integration testing the interoperability of various systems during failure and life safety events.
