- Technical Designer

As the Technical Designer, reporting to the Technical Director, you will be responsible for assembling all technical design information to create technical packages. The position is key stakeholder collaborating design, sales, production and suppliers.

Prepare artwork, including but not limited to AOPs, screen prints, embroideries, and appliques so that they are "production ready"

Create black and white technical sketches with garment construction details

Modify artwork as needed to ensure feasibility while maintaining overall product integrity

Complete technical packages and send to makers via email and wetransfer

Approve AOP artwork layout before makers proceed with engraving screens

Prepare the fabric, trim, and component qualities for the Production Coordinators

Prepare colour cards attached with actual fabric swatches

Prepare fabric swatches as per customer requests

Data entry as needed

Prepare packages as needed for makers

Maintain a library of fabrics and components

Carry out special projects and assignments as required

Criteria

Minimum of 2 years experience as a technical designer in the apparel industry

College diploma in Fashion Design an asset

Good knowledge of fabrics and garment construction

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication skills

Detail-oriented

Can work well independently and within a team
