Job Description


Our client, a Public Safety organization in Toronto, ON, is seeking a Technical Analyst for 2 years contract opportunity. Minimum 7+ year\xe2\x80\x99s experience with a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or Diploma (Computer Science, Engineering, or related field)

Deliverable:

The Technical Analyst selected for this role is responsible for the following activities and deliverables:

  • Facilitate user testing, analyze findings, and document user needs
  • Present with great skills and create visual artifacts (these include presentations, wireframes, prototypes)
  • Assesses system feasibility. Analyses system feasibility and recommends alternative solutions to meet user and Service requirements. Reviews problems and requirements with various levels of user groups. Recommends potential solutions, and, where appropriate and with the approval of the Project Leader, acts on solutions to user problems and conflicts.
  • Develops and enforces system development standards. Researches, prepares, presents, and enforces standards and procedures. Designs and produces reports and documentation. Creates user documentation, including user guides, on-line help, and training material.
  • Participates in the development of project scope. Develops project schedules and resource requirements for assigned projects for the review and approval of the Project Leader. Assists in monitoring the status of project plans.
  • Plans, designs, develops, and customizes complex business application systems. Provides system support to production applications.
  • Creates user test plans, recruits\xe2\x80\x99 participants, facilitates user testing, analyzes findings and documents user needs for the team.
  • Prepares system test plans. Defines tests and expected results. Conducts unit, system, performance, stress, and volume tests. Monitors user acceptance testing and responds accordingly. Coordinates pilot-testing and monitors and evaluates results.
  • Plans implementation and conversion schedules and methods.
  • Learns various platforms and technologies and contributes (hands on) to the development and support of products and services.
  • Coordinates the daily activities of junior staff to meet project schedules. Participates in hiring interviews.
  • Liaises and communicates with users at all levels, with vendors, and with members of government and external agencies.
  • Assists in the preparation of project budgets and contracts. Assists in the selection of consultants and vendors to provide Hardware/ Software.
  • Trains users in the use of applications.
  • Facilitate the team to share ideas
  • Maintain current knowledge of trends in technology and introduces new approaches as appropriate
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Mandatory
  • Exceptional writing skills to create project documentation, operational documents, and user assistance material; and
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to conduct professional and collaborative business and technical communications.
Preferred

Training in Analysis, Design and Test Methodology and Tools, Data and Process Modelling and experience in Full System Development Life Cycle would be an asset.

Work Conditions
  • 3 days WFO and 2 days WFH (7 Hours a week)
