The Technical Account Manager is responsible for the management of client relationships from a technical perspective. The Technical Account Manager does not manage the daily running of the account itself, but will build long-term relationships with key representatives to ensure their needs are being met. Technical Account Managers serve as the interface between service and sales. They will work closely with all departments to gather pertinent, detailed information related to the client.

For the Technical Account Manager role, considerable travel may be required and expected.

Primary Responsibilities



Foster strong client relationships by serving as their primary contact for technical updates, while understanding their business needs and ensuring their technical requirements are met.

Deliver proactive support to help clients maximize the effectiveness of their services.

Conduct client meetings (onsite, phone, virtual) to discuss projects, hardware/software needs, and strategic planning.

Maintain regular communication with key client representatives, addressing concerns and identifying effective solutions.

Monitor client accounts to detect and mitigate potential risks before they escalate, ensuring a stable, optimized, and secure environment.

Oversee technical projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and successful delivery.

Perform comprehensive audits on client accounts, verifying staff lists against Skycomp agreements and management tools, and resolving any discrepancies.

Assist clients in long-term strategic planning by providing expert technical guidance and ensuring their technology evolves with their needs.

Collaborate with the sales team to communicate technical requirements identified through client discussions.

Identify opportunities for additional sales, services, or renewals by aligning client needs with available solutions.

Through proper execution of the above stated job responsibilities, a Technical Account Manager will build strong long-term relationships with our partners, acting as a technical advocate with a focus to improve the client's overall experience with Skycomp.

A successful Technical Account Manager will have exceptional communication, computer and problem-solving skills. They will be resourceful, analytical, adaptable and organized with the ability to build rapport with clients while helping to manage their technical needs.

Credentials and Experience



Post-Secondary degree/certificate in Computer Systems Technician, or an IT-related equivalent

Experience working in a high-level technical environment

Experience with high-level hardware technology - Switches, VLN Routing, Servers & Firewall Support and Deployment

Experience with Data Backup and Recovery Support, Security Support, VPN Connectivity Support and Deployment

Experience with Remote Monitoring, Management tools & Scripting

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Outgoing, charismatic, & comfortable with public speaking

Ability to collect, track, and analyze large amounts of data

Excellent active listening skills

Ability to build rapport and collaborate with others within the company and externally
