POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Centre Director, the
Team Mentor
plays a key leadership role in maintaining high-quality learning environments across all age groups. This role includes mentoring educators, modeling best practices, supporting curriculum implementation, and ensuring compliance with CCEYA standards. As a role model to children, families, and colleagues, the Team Mentor helps create a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
This is an on-site role based at a designated Childventures campus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Mentor and coach educators in classroom management, curriculum delivery, and documentation
Support team members in implementing developmentally appropriate, engaging learning experiences
Conduct classroom observations to assess program quality and provide timely feedback
Ensure compliance with CCEYA and internal health, safety, and operational standards
Guide staff in completing observations and maintaining accurate child records
Promote inclusivity, emotional well-being, and cultural awareness in every classroom
Support curriculum knowledge-building through training sessions and curriculum meetings
Model respectful and professional communication with families and team members
Collaborate with the Centre Director and Director of Quality to uphold Childventures' educational standards
Act as a liaison during Ministry inspections to ensure compliance and preparedness
Other duties as assigned to support centre success
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Certification
Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education from a recognized Ontario college
Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE)
Valid Food Handler Certification is an asset
Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in early childhood education
Experience supporting multiple age groups is considered an asset
Knowledge & Skills
In-depth understanding of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
Strong curriculum knowledge and ability to guide others in pedagogical practice
Leadership skills with a collaborative and nurturing approach
