We are looking for a Team Leader - Mechanical in our Waterloo Office or Other offices in GTA. The leader will be responsible for leading a mechanical design team of process mechanical and building mechanical engineers and designers in the Ontario EDO (Engineering Design Organization) , and will work collaboratively with project managers, business development leaders, and the EDO business group leader to deliver design projects and lead to develop our technical resources and capabilities.
Responsibilities Towards the Employees:

• Coach, develop and work closely with the team to achieve the performance criteria established for the business group
• Inspire a collaborative environment to foster engagement, development and retention of the group under your responsibility
• Actively collaborate with other team leaders in EDO to achieve excellent business results
• Provide practical technical advice and mentorship to engineers and technical staff for the completion of projects
• Support and meet GHD\'s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management system requirements
• Act as an ambassador to attract and promote career opportunities
• Being an agent of transformation to promote our values

Responsibilities Towards GHD business groups:

• Build effective relationships with the business group\'s key contacts. Support the development of new markets/market sectors in your specialty
• Support proposal preparation and related activities, while being aligned with regional objectives
• Demonstrate and promote project delivery skills by working with project directors and coordinators, as well as uni-disciplinary and multidisciplinary teams
• Potentially act as a project manager or project director on relevant projects
• Actively participate in customer, professional and industry events to promote the GHD brand
• Provide support for critical business development initiatives

Technical responsibilities:

• Demonstrate experience leading to complete preliminary and detailed design.
• Performed roles as project discipline lead, senior design engineer, and quality reviewer in projects.
• Review design outputs, calculations, design briefs, and technical reports and detailed design in accordance with industry standards and GHD\xe2\x80\x99s quality systems
• Contribute towards the ongoing GHD design practice standardization across region and nationally

Qualifications:

• Mechanical Engineering Degree
• Minimum of 10 years in engineering consultant Industry.
• Working in process mechanical and/or building mechanical engineering for related market sectors such as water/wastewater, energy and resources, environment, buildings and properties, and transportation.
• Must have an Ontario P. Eng. License. Licenses in other provinces are an asset.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing teams to develop, mentor and lead professional technical staff
• Ability to manage priorities and develop team resource.
• Ability to adapt leadership style according to the composition of your team
• Excellent people management and mentoring skills with ability to gather, influence and motivate a group of professionals
• Analytical mind with problem-solving skills
• Good knowledge and proven experience in project delivery and the Office environment
