Team Leader (CF) - CFCSEdmonton, AB, Canada Req #363Monday, June 10, 2024Catholic Social Services is currently seeking a Contract full-time, 40 hours per week, Team Leader in EDMONTON to join Edmonton Children Youth Services. Providing excellent client-centered care, you are confident, thoughtful, and motivated to achieve success when supporting others in your community.This position has a weekly schedule of 40 hours and is contracted until January 31, 2026.Job Summary:The Team Leader oversees the daily supervision of Replacement Workers in the Congregate Care Programs. The Team Leader also ensures that the needs of the clients are met. Additionally, the Team Leader trains, supervises, and evaluates employees who provide the direct services to clients with humility, compassion and respect. This position also represents the Agency within the community and liaises with community partners.

  • Presents as a positive and professional role model and ambassador for the Agency in interactions with clients, stakeholders, and the public. Maintains respectful personal boundaries
  • Communicates effectively and respectfully in a professional and confidential manner with all Agency employees, and internal and external stakeholders
  • Establishes and maintains respectful, collaborative working relationships with employees, clients and their key stakeholders, and other organizations/community groups, etc.
  • Participates in recruitment / orientation of new employees
  • Monitors employees completion of mandatory training requirements
  • Provides individual supervision as required according to the experience of the worker; supervision includes monthly face to face case supervision and/or group supervision
  • Provides support over the phone and possibly on-site through an on-call after hours rotation for programs within the Service
  • Ensures outcome measures and other reporting protocols are understood and utilized by employees
  • Monitors, supervises and evaluates performance of employees
  • Collects, approves and submits time sheets and leave of absence requests for employees
  • Reviews, completes & submits incident reports, serious occurrence reports and/or other administrative duties in a precise and timely manner as per Agency policy and procedures
  • Debriefs with employees about serious occurrences or critical incidents
  • Is a positive, participatory team member; effectively communicating program concerns and possible solutions
  • Integrates employee feedback about service delivery needs into additional training for employees
  • Encourages employee participation in Service and Agency activities
  • Provides on-the-job supervision to students and volunteers as required
What this job requires:
  • Minimum of a Diploma in a Human Services\xe2\x80\x99 discipline or equivalent
  • Degree in a Human Services\xe2\x80\x99 discipline is an asset
  • Additional relevant certifications or designations considered an asset
  • Minimum of _1_ year professional supervisory experience preferred
  • Minimum of _3_ years\xe2\x80\x99 professional experience with children & youth work, addictions and/or high-risk behaviours
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Ability and willingness to work outside of regular office hours as required to meet client and/or Agency needs including participating in rotating on-call schedule as required
  • Frequently works in a standard office environment with standard office equipment
  • Regular, and occasionally prolonged, use of computer
  • Regular interactions with external contacts including clients, clients\xe2\x80\x99 family members, key stakeholders, partner and government agencies, and members of the community
  • Regular interactions with internal Agency staff and management
  • May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions including viruses and pathogens (blood borne and/or air borne)
  • Considerable sitting, standing, and/or moving with little or no heavy effort. Occasional prolonged sitting
  • May occasionally support residents who are experiencing crisis and who may be dysregulated.
  • Required to handle incidents and emergencies at any time as they occur
  • Mental demands due to working in an unpredictable and busy environment with continual exposure to interruptions
  • Requires medium degree of visual attention, visual and auditory acuity, and mental concentration
  • Position has high volumes of work, and priorities that are constantly changing
  • Position has variety and number of key issues that must be successfully balanced and administered at any given time
  • A reliable Vehicle, Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License, Vehicle Registration
  • 2 Million Third-Party Liability Insurance (if required)
  • Police Information Check including vulnerable sector search, and Intervention Record Check current within six (6) months
  • Summary of driving record with no more than six (6) demerit points current within one (1) year.
  • Required 2 years of Driving Experience
