Team Lead

in our

Residential Support Program

.

*Please note, this position is 40 hours per week, with a weekly rotation of:



Sunday 10:00 AM-6:00 PM (8 hours)

Monday 8:00 PM-8:00 PM (12 hours)

Tuesday 8:00 PM-8:00 AM (12 hours)

Wednesday 4:00 PM-Midnight (8 hours)


Position Summary:

The Team Lead is responsible for guiding and supporting frontline staff during their scheduled shifts with the implementation of Individual Service Plans and any issues, questions, concerns, and/or emergencies. This role is required to bridge any communications, leadership, tasking, case management, or service gaps while reporting to both a Program Supervisor and a Program Coordinator.

Expectations will include ensuring daily documentation and tasks are completed by frontline staff, general document control, attending regularly scheduled meetings, and ensuring availability of resources and community inclusion for individuals accessing our services. During unforeseen staffing shortages, the Team Lead must be prepared to assist with frontline worker tasking as needed (e.g. grooming, cooking, driving individuals to appointments, managing mental or physical health crises).

You will bring:



Formal Education:

Post Secondary diploma or degree in Social services, Community Rehabilitation, Disability Studies, or a related field is a preferred requirement.

Experience:

3 to 5 years of experience supporting individuals in a community or residential setting. Experience dealing with adults with complex needs, developmental delays, cognitive disabilities, mental health concerns, and challenging behaviors is necessary.

Some previous supervisory and administrative experience is required. A mix of education and experience will be considered.



Hours:

This position follows a formally scheduled rotation

(see above)

and will function within a 24-hour care setting.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:



- Demonstrated supervisory, leadership, and team building skills

- Ability to make quick decisions in crisis situations

- Ability to respond to and help resolve staffing and client behavioral issues

- Ability to respond to hospital emergencies, staff injuries, and medication issues

- Advanced critical thinking skills

- High-level computer and writing/reporting skills

- Ability to remain calm and resilient in stressful or highly emotional situations

- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

- A clear and solid understanding of workforce policies, practices, and procedures

- Strong understanding of the processes and necessary documentation regarding behavioral support plans and CPI procedures

Other Necessities:



- A valid driver's license issued in Canada

-You will need to have a reliable car with personal liability insurance involving minimum coverage of two million ($2,000,000.00) and a willingness to use your own vehicle for work purposes

- Successful candidate will need to provide a new set of Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sectors Search results
