Role Overview



As a Rebar Detailer Lead, you will play a dual role: producing accurate shop drawings and bar lists for rebar fabrication while overseeing construction projects from planning through close-out. You'll act as the technical link between customers, engineering teams, and on-site crews, ensuring projects meet budget, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.

About the Role - Your main responsibilities will include:



Detailing & Documentation



Produce shop drawings and bar lists based on plans, bid documents, and project specifications Verify all contractual information (drawings, addenda, specifications) Maintain meticulous records: daily reports, change orders, extras, billing, and claims

Project Planning & Scheduling



Define project scope and develop detailed work plans and resource schedules Prepare and manage project budgets, negotiate change orders, and backcharges Conduct post-project debriefs and prepare status reports

Team Coordination & Client Liaison



Lead cross-functional teams (engineers, labourers, subcontractors) for effective collaboration Serve as the primary client contact: provide regular progress updates, address concerns, and facilitate kick-off/follow up meetings Spend time on-site building relationships with Forepersons, Superintendents, and subcontractors

Quality, Safety & Risk Management



Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies Ensure adherence to local, provincial, and federal regulations, as well as company safety guidelines

About You - The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:



Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Engineering, or equivalent 3-5+ years' experience in rebar detailing and/or rebar construction project management Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; experience with aSa, RebarCAD or Soule is an asset PMP certification is an asset Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities Proven ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
