You are a seasoned risk professional who has been a top performer at Lightspeed, on our journey as we grow our Payments portfolio globally. You will use your experience to lead a team of Risk analyst's primarily in North America and APAC with goals of preventing financial loss, adhering to compliance regulations and protecting our customers from Fraud.

Our Risk analysts are a part of the Payment Operations team. Payment Operations division oversees loss prevention, chargebacks reconciliation, compliance and the Risk Analysts are responsible for the risk management for our global payments portfolio. With people centric leadership and risk management skills you will bring a blend of energy and drive to help your team and risk monitoring processes constantly evolve and adapt to take on new challenges as we scale.

Reporting to the Manager of Risk & Chargebacks, this role involves team oversight and highly impacts Lightspeed's Payments revenue.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Provide day-to-day guidance, training, strategic leadership and oversight to the team of risk analyst's through coaching and mentorship
  • Develop a positive team relationship by being supportive, visible, easily accessible and proactively encouraging daily motivation and recognition
  • Assist with customer escalations and case reviews as required, providing the 2nd line of approval
  • Active participation in complex payments projects that span across functions, regions and segments as we roll out payments in new markets
  • Continuously identify ways to improve how we operate and work with the team to act on and implement those improvements
  • Work closely together with the other teams leads within Support, Underwriting Reconciliation, Chargebacks and Compliance to guarantee close collaborating across all functions within the team
  • Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team, manage the team schedule, conduct team meetings, deliver performance reviews and evaluations
  • Ensure team objectives are being met by each member and provide constructive feedback
  • Communicate team initiatives, targets and processes and give insights during weekly meetings
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge related to the company, industry standards and our products
  • Develop and update risk management policies, guidelines, standards and processes
What you'll be bringing to the team:
  • 5+ years of risk and/or fraud prevention experience
  • Passion for people and risk management
  • Proven track record of getting hands dirty to problem solve and tackle new challenges
  • Training/mentoring skills that focus on performance and morale
  • Strong presentations skills
  • Strong operational management skills and the ability to coordinate and drive to get things done
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple departments and execute on priorities, influence change, and deliver results;
  • Ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of payments regulations and team policies
  • Excellent excel technical skills
Even better if you have, but not necessary:
  • Intermediate excel and sql
  • Policy and procedure development experience
  • Vendor and partner management experience
  • Global payments industry knowledge
