About Our Opportunity

Under the direction of the Manager, Insured Services, the Team Lead is responsible for training and mentoring Insured Services staff and is the designated contact person for upgrading, testing, training and support for those who use the Medigent reciprocal claim billing system.

Primary Accountabilities

The incumbent is accountable for the administration and processing of the program for NRIP (Non-Resident In-Patient) hospital services provided in Nova Scotia hospitals to residents of other Canadian Provinces/Territories, within the parameters of the interprovincial reciprocal billing agreement. This position is also responsible to receive and upload claims from all Nova Scotia hospitals for non-resident inpatient and outpatient services, and to save, print, receive and upload claims from all other Provinces/Territories for Out-of-Province inpatient and outpatient services received by MoveIT (sFTP: Secure File Transfer Protocol ) or hard copy (paper).

Qualifications and Experience

As the successful candidate, you will have Grade 11 plus 5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable. Related experience in a computerized accounting environment is required.

The candidate must have experience and working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, bookkeeping procedures and the ability to adhere to strict month end and fiscal year end deadlines. The candidate must have previous experience in a Team Lead role as this is paramount in maintaining the timelines, expectations for national reciprocal hospital billing with the Insured Services reciprocal billing team. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; along with excellent data entry skills to maintain demands of the role. You must possess a strong customer service focus; including the ability to deal diplomatically with telephone and e-mail inquiries; must be able to work effectively independently and as a team member, must have the ability to exercise initiative and demonstrate sound judgment when solving problems. Complete confidentiality of all claim information must be maintained. Knowledge and experience of the Corporate Financial Management System (CFMS/SAP), Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, Internet Explorer and the Medigent reciprocal claim processing system will be considered assets. Must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy and limited supervision.

Pay Grade: CL 22

Salary Range: $1,868.53 - $2,066.70 Bi-Weekly
