Position Title: Team Lead Mobile Planning Employment Type: Permanent
About Arctic Canadian Diamond Company Arctic Canadian Diamond Company (Arctic) is a Canadian mining company and a significant producer and supplier of premium rough diamond assortments to the global market. The company owns and operates the Ekati Diamond Mine. The company also holds a controlling interest in the Lac de Gras Diamond Project. The Ekati Diamond Mine and the Lac de Gras Diamond Project are located in Canada’s Northwest Territories. In addition to its mining and exploration operations, Arctic has offices in Canada and Belgium.
Position Overview Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability and working two (2) weeks on, followed by two (2) weeks off at the Ekati Mine, the Team Leader of Mobile Planning is responsible for the safe, efficient, and productive operation of the planning department for both the daily and long-range planning for the mobile fleet. As a leader in the planning department, you may also be required to supervise Fixed Plant planners and liaise with other departments including Reliability.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Promote and demonstrate safe work practices
  • Planning and scheduling work for mobile equipment such as drills, dozers, graders, excavators, loaders, etc.
  • Coaching, supervision, and directing a team of planners conducting daily and long-term planning and scheduling of a rolling weekly schedule and major rebuilds of mobile assets.
  • Create and manage the long-range planning for the mobile fleet.
  • Support department KPIs, project budgets and work towards achieving them and explain variances.
  • Communicate and ensure adherence to new, modified or existing procedures and assist in the development and creation of new procedures and work instructions.
  • Manage manpower and training requirements.
  • Develop and deliver cross-shift communication notes.
  • Communicate requirements for master data changes and master material requests;
  • Ensure sign off on stock returns (forms) are completed.
  • Ensure compliance to regulatory authorities.
  • Manage all day-to-day SAP activities, History input, TECO work, time confirmations completed.
  • Participate in weekly stakeholder scheduling meetings.
  • Manage the ordering of direct charge items for rebuilds and urgent and/or immediate work.
  • Participate in the creation of OPEX/CAPEX budgets, participates in quarterly re-forecasts
  • Initiate and foster equipment and process improvement ideas.
  • Initiate cost saving measures.

Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Journeyperson, Red Seal Certified (or equivalent experience).
  • 10 years industry experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience supervising multiple trades.
  • Experience with SAP considered an asset.

Additional Information Arctic provides travel to and from the Ekati mine site out of Calgary, Yellowknife, and other northern fly points.
