About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Assistant Managers/Managers of Health Information Services, the HIS Registration Team Lead is responsible for development and coordination of all staff completing patient registrations at the point of entry to NSHA facilities for self- registration (kiosk). The Team Lead corresponds with clinical areas to ensuring clinical service delivery aligns with the patient flow activity of the facility. This collaboration is required for continuity of patient flow ensuring all patients presenting at a self-registration location will be processed accurately and in a timely manner. The Team Lead ensure appropriate staffing levels are in place to meet the established turnaround time of patient processing at the HIS registration locations. This requires scheduling employees in multiple facilities, adjustment of schedules, calling in replacement staff to maintain daily support of the operations of the department. The Team Lead conducts orientation, training and re-training of all employees, monitoring adherence to policies/procedures and conducting audits ensuring processes are being applied. The Team Lead serves as the knowledge expert for all procedures, codes, system dependencies related to pre-registration & function of the self-registration area. The Team Lead is responsible to ensure that the kiosk procedures are updated and available for staff to use. The Team Lead is responsible to report any inconsistencies to policy/process or practice to the Assistant Manager for follow-up.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade XII plus one year post-secondary business diploma
  • 2 years related experience in a health care setting required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in office desktop applications
  • Scheduling experience an asset
  • Data Quality experience an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of contacts: peers, senior management, front line staff, vendors, end users, etc
  • Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly motivated
  • Ability to cope with stress in a positive way
  • Public speaking
  • Well-developed problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage change effectively
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Temporary Long Assignment, Full-Time position; 70 hours bi-weekly
  • Approximate term of 18 months (Dates subject to change)
Compensation and Incentives

$21.73 - $24.31 Hourly
