About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Health Information Services, the Health Information Services Quality Control Clerk (QC) is responsible for ensuring that legal health record processes for access and distribution are completed according to policy and established standards. The HIS QC Clerk is responsible for assisting with the daily HIS Clerk functions, to ensure the organization and processing of health information meets quality standards. The QC clerks monitoring adherence to procedures and conducting quality audits on quality of work to ensure patient information is accurate and complete. The QC clerks must understand the core functions of the service to assist in all tasks and serve as the technical /knowledge experts for all procedures in the records management area. The QC ensures that production and quality of service meets expectations. The HIS QC Clerk will consistently demonstrate professional behaviour adhering to NSH values of collaboration, accountability, respect and excellence with a patient/client/customer service focus. The QC Clerk will have the ability to gather reference material to assist in the on-going development of standards for quality improvement opportunities and employee development. The HIS department operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade XII plus one year post secondary business, secretarial, or office management diploma preferred
  • Three (3) years related experience in Health Records required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in a health-related field preferred
  • Demonstrated self-starter and problem solver
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Word, Excel and Intranet
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Permanent Full-Time position; 70 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Incentives

$21.73 - $24.31 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
