Supportive Housing Program



The Holyrood Supportive Housing (SH) Program provides a safe, supervised residence with staff coverage 24/7 for adults who require significant permanent support to maintain their independence in the community. The program operates in a 4-storey 63-unit SH Building and is run by an SH team of program staff providing daily living support to the 63 participants in the program. The Program Manager oversees the day-to-day operations, program staff, and service delivery of the Holyrood SH program. Supervised by the Director of Housing and Clinical Services, the Program Manager is responsible for creating a positive, safe environment for program staff and building residents.

The Team Lead, under the direction of the Program Manager, will assist in the day-to-day operations and housing management of the 24-hour site. They will assist with service delivery, programming, and daily management of 24-hour staff, including managing the shift schedule and incident report reviews. They will be the first contact for the shift supervisors and front-line staff and will provide in-community support as needed.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities



Work collaboratively with the Program Manager to ensure adherence to accreditation standards, and GSS organizational and program policies, procedures, and protocols. Provide strong leadership to sustain a safe and respectful work environment by using effective communication, team building, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to support staff and promote quality service delivery and positive team dynamics. Work with Case Managers and Program Manager on the implementation and ongoing review of service models, care pathways, and policies and procedures to ensure quality improvement for the participant success. Ensure team members enter ETO and FYI data in an accurate and timely manner and consistently follow and implement policies and procedures. Support Case Managers in orienting and motivating clients to access appropriate mental health, physical health, substance use, life skill, and other supportive daily functioning services; as needed, attend training; attend and hold staff meetings and case conferences With the Program Manager, collaborate on quality improvement, staff recruiting, and training for new staff. Attending Homeward Trust and GSS team lead meetings and/or working groups, case conferencing, and external partner meetings. Administrative duties as needed and other duties assigned.

Position Qualifications



Degree or diploma in a Human Services field with 2 to 3 years of direct experience working in a supervisory capacity in a residential setting An open, accepting, and non-judgmental attitude with an ability to build rapport with residents and staff Experience working with people with complex life circumstances associated with substance-related disorders, mental health issues, mobility issues and homelessness Basic understanding of recovery, client-centered care, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction principles based on dignity, hope and healing as individuals move forward towards improved health and well-being Demonstrated understanding of the addictions field Knowledge of referral resources and health services available for vulnerable populations Understanding of inner- city issues Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills Familiar with recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) as well as Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) Inquiry Current Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check Current First Aid/CPR/AED training Valid Alberta Driver's License Personal vehicles with $2 million liability insurance and the ability to transport clients as deemed necessary

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday. 8 hours per day. 6-month contract
