The opportunity

  • Manulife Bank & Trust\xe2\x80\x99s Mortgage Underwriting department is looking for a Mortgage Fulfillment Team Lead. Your role directly impacts generating growth in our Mortgage Residential market space by offering a frictionless and competitive Residential Mortgage origination experience for both our customers and independent advice partners.
Responsibilities
  • Look for and filling training gaps for individuals and the team as a whole
  • Prioritize Review Queue (support other Team lead when needed)
  • Provide support in overflow of work and help meet targets (new files and split effort in review queue)
  • Plan and implement training program for new hires
  • Track employee success and progress and report to leaders
  • Provide training to other department on our process or helping to transition a process
  • Be an advocate and supporter of continuous improvements, change management and business needs/initiatives
  • Prepare quiz and feedback surveys on training
  • Represent team in working groups as a knowledge expert and resource
  • Assist manager with audit requirements
  • Identify knowledge gaps and process efficiency improvements
  • Facilitate/assist in improvements and projects as the SME
  • Risk management- identify, report and mitigate
  • Be proactive in alerting Director and managers on new trends related to risk or service

What we are looking for
  • 3-5 years progressive experience in the financial services, particularly, in lending and risk management
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and exercise judgement in a changing environment
  • Lead, coach, and mentor and develop direct reports through regular touchpoints (minimum of monthly). The primary accountability of this role is to provide practical, client-focused leadership to the team, ensure productivity, quality and turnaround times are achieved, and manage the risk associated with decisions.
  • Excellent customer and relationship management skills
  • Leadership skills with shown capability to encourage a culture of commitment and excellence
  • Must reside in the region they work for to have a solid understanding of the client base\'s local real estate market trends and cultural variance.
  • Highly accountable in effective operational practices and delivering results. Effectively accountable for the region\'s performance in terms of productivity and quality.
  • Strategic and creative thinker focused on finding solutions to unique customer needs.
  • Underwriting and adjudication experience within the residential mortgage lending environment is helpful.
  • Previous banking experience is helpful.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location CAN, British Columbia - Full Time Remote

Salary range is expected to be between $58,650.00 CAD - $97,750.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
