Job Description

The Produce Team Lead plans, organizes, directs,?controls,?and evaluates the operations of the Produce Department.?The?role will include setting and maintaining attractive fresh produce displays and assure that all objectives and goals of the department and store, as communicated by the Market Manager are met or exceeded. You will ensure a positive company image by providing legendary customer service?and?exceptional?leadership!
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise, coordinate and schedule Produce Department Team Members
• Forecast and order produce items as required
• Establish Team Member work schedules and monitor staff performance
• Establish effective methods for the increasing productivity in the Produce Department
• Maintain and evaluate records of stock,?sales?and wastage
• Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures
• Ensure that Sunterra's food quality and service standards are met
• May participate in the selection of food service staff and assist in the development of policies,?procedures?and budgets
• Control and maintain records of inventory, monitor?revenues?and make suggestions for procedures and price changes
• Assist and support the Produce Team with all departmental functions.
• Follow through on all customer questions and requests.
• Clean, peel, slice and trim vegetables and fruits for ready-to-serve offerings.
• Prepare ready to serve products such as Sunterra's freshly squeezed juices.
• Understand juicing machine usage, safety, and maintenance
• Keep all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated.
• Follow established food safety, cleaning, and maintenance procedures.
• Maintain accurate retail pricing and signage.
• Oversee sampling of department products to customers.
• Be aware of new products and their placement.
• Know and practice proper lifting techniques and safe use of all tools and equipment.
• Practice proper care and maintenance of all equipment.
• Report safety violations and hazards immediately; maintain department security.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Market Managers




Working Conditions:




• Standing and/or walking for?extended?periods?of time.
• Some exposure to temperature variations and wet conditions.
• May walk and work on uneven surfaces.
• Requires some reaching above and below shoulder height.
• Repetitive use of hands with power grasping and fine manipulation.
• May need to use a ladder or stool to reach product or supplies.
• Repetitive stretching and lifting required.
• Lifting of items up to 40 pounds (over 40 requires a team lift)

Qualifications:

• Managerial or supervisory experience in a related industry
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Food Safety Mini Course certification?preferred
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent communications skills
• Understanding of budgeting and sales analysis
• Knowledge of fruit and vegetable?variations
• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness
