Job Description


Ledcor is hiring a Team Lead, Compensation for a full-time permanent position ideally based in Vancouver or Edmonton. Reporting to the Senior Manager - Compensation & HR Projects, this position is responsible for the overall administration and maintenance of Ledcor\'s compensation programs, which include a variety of base pay and short-term incentive plans.

In your new role you will lead and administer the annual merit review and discretionary profit-sharing processes , advise on the continuous enhancement of our compensation related technology and tools and will support compensation related projects. As a Team Lead, you will provide guidance and mentorship to 2 direct reports within a collaborative and tight knit team.

You are someone who has a passion and curiosity for compensation data. You are also a naturally analytical minded individual with strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills. You are comfortable working with all levels of stakeholders and have the ability to understand and interpret needs with providing recommendations.

Essential Responsibilities

Annual Merit Review and Discretionary Profit-Sharing Program (35%)

  • Leads and administers the annual merit review and discretionary Profit-Sharing cycles in Workday
  • Manages a range of analytical assessments, including internal equity evaluation during the processes, in anticipation of overarching approval by senior management
  • Creates and builds the cost modeling and analysis of current budget trends to determine impact
  • Prepares analysis and reports for Senior Executives and Ledcor Board with respect to these programs as required, overseeing roll-up analysis for Board approval;
  • Engages with various business stakeholders, BES (Business and Employee Services), Payroll, Business HR and HRIS teams to ensure a highly collaborative approach to ensure these are seamless business processes
Market Review & Analysis, and Salary range maintenance (30%)
  • Leads Ledcor\'s salary survey participation including survey matches; monitors current surveys portfolio, looks for ways to optimize and improve it
  • Analyzes and interprets survey results and HR data, to monitor salary market movement and trends, recommending changes to programs or guidance where required
  • Leads the annual review and update of salary ranges and other compensation elements
  • Examines various geographic pay variances and establishes location multipliers on an as needed basis
  • Leads education campaigns on compensation programs, principles and processes, with a view to fostering transparency and understanding
  • Provides guidance and advice to business leaders and HR team members regarding the interpretation of market ranges, job families and career levels or other specific compensation issues
  • Provide advice and support on offer recommendations
  • Ensure we are keeping up to date with any new changes to market conditions
Project & Technology Support (30%)
  • Serves as Project Lead for a non-job evaluation/Pay equity related compensation special projects
  • Advises on compensation related business process, dashboard and report enhancements in Workday, with a view towards continuous enhancement
  • Supports development of new job governance technology tool
Ad-Hoc Support (5%)
  • Provides input and recommendations to the Manager to support development of departmental goals and objectives
  • Provides support to the management in the development of reports and other materials for presentation to the senior HR leaders and other executives
Qualifications
  • A Degree in a relevant field such as HR Management, Compensation & Benefits or Finance is highly desirable for this position
  • Minimum 6 years\' Experience working in a compensation or related analyst role in a complex multi-jurisdictional organization
  • You will have provided guidance and mentorship to colleagues with a strong preference for people with direct management experience
  • Experience working with HCM compensation modules, including merit and short term incentive programs
  • Proven history of working with human resources information systems (HRIS) systems will be required with a strong preference given to Workday.
  • Experience with administering compensation programs, including annual merit reviews
  • Strong knowledge in Excel and the suite of Microsoft Office products
  • Possess an analytical mindset and curiosity to dig into and interpret data
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Must possess tact, diplomacy and the ability to maintain confidentiality
