About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, Diabetes Management Centres, the incumbent is responsible for supporting the orientation and training of new hires, monitoring and ensuring the smooth operation of maintenance activities for multiple DMC sites, maintaining medical supplies/ equipment, supporting quality improvement initiatives and providing administrative support to the BCI program.

About You

  • Graduate of a recognized office administration program/business program/secretarial program and/or a combination of education, training and progressively responsible experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience required
  • Experience and knowledge working with chronic disease conditions and multidisciplinary clinical team setting
  • Ability to support staff in the operation of technology required for the effective delivery of patient care
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with staff, building management at multiple sites, external agencies, patients and pharmaceutical representatives
  • Proficiency in the use of health records and booking and registration processes
  • Strong understanding of patient care delivery systems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Effective communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products - MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access
  • Experience in STAR registration system, PHS scheduling system and familiarity with Horizon Patient Folder is essential
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with ability to prioritize while working under pressure for deadlines
  • Proficiency in accounting skills and use of necessary software
  • Working at ease with technology (new equipment and software) is essential
  • A valid Nova Scotia Driver\'s License may be required
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Incentives

$21.73 - $24.31 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
