Waterhen School is a Nursery to Grade 9 facility of approximately 60 students, 5 teaching staff and 15 support staff members located approximately one hour northeast of Dauphin. Housing for this position is available.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the administrative duties in the school and will teach Physical Education.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education degree and Valid Manitoba Teacher's Certificate (or eligibility for) Master's degree in education/administration and/or Certificate in School Leadership would be an asset At least five years of teaching experience and five years of administrative experience Excellent understanding of current Manitoba Curricula and differentiated instruction Experience with integrating Indigenous culture and land-based teaching into curriculum Proficiency in a variety of computer applications in a network environment and experience with and understanding of school-based technology Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to effectively communicate with parents and the community, and foster parental involvement Ability to work with teachers to promote and deliver inclusive schooling Previous success with the development and implementation of short and long-term school-based plans Experience leading innovative and alternative program delivery methods for students Keen ability to identify and creatively solve problems Capacity to work in and respond to a demanding, fast-paced school environment
