Job Overview
KCC is currently seeking experienced and dedicated
Teaching Assistants (TAs)
to support both the
clinical and theoratical
components of our
Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) program
. This role is ideal for practicing RMTs who are passionate about education and want to play a key role in supporting the next generation of massage therapy professionals.
TAs will work under the direction of lead instructors and program administrators to help deliver course content, guide hands-on skill development, and supervise students during clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities
In Clinic:
Supervise student-led massage therapy sessions in the student clinic.
Provide ongoing feedback and support to ensure safe, ethical, and client-centered care.
Ensure all clinic policies and safety protocols are followed in accordance with CCHPBC standards.
Support students in treatment planning, documentation, and client communication.
In Theory Classes:
Assist instructors with classroom activities and discussion facilitation.
Support students in understanding key theoretical concepts (e.g., anatomy, pathology, assessment techniques).
Offer one-on-one or small-group guidance as needed.
Help maintain a respectful and engaging classroom environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
Current Registration:
Registered and in good standing with the
College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC)
or another recognized provincial regulatory body.
Clinical Experience:
Minimum
2,500 hours
or
two years
of hands-on clinical experience as an RMT.
Instructional Skills:
Strong communication, mentorship, and organizational skills; ability to support adult learners effectively.
Professionalism:
Commitment to ethical practice, student-centered education, and collaborative teaching environments.
Assets:
Previous experience teaching or supervising in a massage therapy setting; current First Aid/CPR certification; comfort using educational technology or digital platforms.
