Teaching and Learning Specialist Regular, Full-time Position Duties: The position of Teaching and Learning Specialist requires innovative application and expertise in pedagogy, andragogy, learning theory, instructional design, e-learning, curriculum development, educational philosophy, inter-cultural education, and Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL). This position will support faculty, programs and courses in formal and informal development. Qualifications: A Master's degree in Education; Ph.D. preferred, along with 3-5 years' experience in educational development and teaching in higher education and 3-5 years' experience with curriculum development experience for on-line, blended, and face to face delivery. Well experienced candidates with an advanced degree in another discipline may be considered. The ideal candidate will also have:
  • Demonstrated record of accomplishment in facilitating cyclical quality assurance processes and strategic program planning
  • Demonstrated ability to use research methodologies and evidence-based practices to plan, gather, and analyze complex data
  • Formal training or experience in online course delivery and technology enhanced learning an asset
  • Experience with inclusive excellence, facilitating cultural humility, working with diverse populations
  • Experience with Indigenization and promoting Indigenous ways of knowing, doing, and being
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work well unsupervised and collaborate well in working groups that involve faculty and educational technology staff
  • Ability to lead innovation and change in pedagogy, at course and program levels
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
