Job Description

The Teaching and Learning team is looking for a person(s) to join them in supporting faculty, courses, programs and all things teaching and learning at YukonU for a three-year term, from August 1, 2023, to July 31, 2026.

*Consideration will be given to job sharing possibilities.

As a Faculty member, Teaching and Learning, you will work in collaboration with faculty colleagues and other members of the Teaching and Learning (T&L) team to support the quality, inclusivity, and relevance of teaching and learning at Yukon University. Areas of focus for the T&L team include:

• Faculty development and support;
• Program development and review;
• Course (re)design and development;
• Inclusivity, accessibility, and equity in teaching and learning; and
• Support for and engagement in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

The successful candidate must thrive on working in team-based, collaborative, and dynamic environment that is relational, grounded in Northern context and honours many ways of knowing, doing, and being. Strong decision-making, interpersonal and relationship-building skills are essential. Experience or qualifications in the following areas will be considered assets:

• Experience in post-secondary teaching using a critical, learner-centered approach;
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement in teaching practice;
• A degree in Education, with preference given to a bachelor\'s degree in education or a master\'s degree focused on curriculum, pedagogy, or teaching practices;
• Experience developing courses or educational programs;
• Experience adapting courses or teaching practices to increase inclusivity and accessibility, particularly for remote learners;
• Experience implementing Indigenous, culturally responsive, and/or trauma-informed teaching practices;
• Experience with experiential learning, especially land-based or work-integrated learning;
• Experience engaging in scholarly activity related to Teaching and Learning.
