We are a private family in Maple Ridge seeking a passionate, creative, and reliable

Homeschool Teacher

to provide a tailored education experience for our two daughters, ages 8 and 10. We travel often and require a flexible educator who can adapt the curriculum to suit our lifestyle while fostering a love of learning, independence, and personal growth.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a customized curriculum that aligns with BC learning standards (or suitable equivalent). Deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons in core subjects (English, Math, Science, Social Studies), with optional enrichment in Art, Music or other areas of interest. Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and independent study. Create a positive, patient, and inspiring learning environment. Assess and track academic progress; communicate regularly with parents. Adjust lesson plans to accommodate travel schedules (online or asynchronous support may be required at times). Coordinate educational outings, hands-on learning, and real-world applications when possible. Light administrative tasks related to lesson planning and reporting.

Requirements:

Experience in teaching, tutoring, or homeschooling (formal or informal). Strong understanding of BC curriculum or equivalent homeschooling philosophies (Montessori, Charlotte Mason, Classical, etc.). Passionate about working with children and supporting their growth. Organized, dependable, and flexible. Ability to create a nurturing and disciplined learning environment. Must pass a criminal record check and provide references.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with alternative learning models or special interest in experiential education. First aid/CPR certification. Ability to travel occasionally or work remotely if needed.

Hours and days are flexible based on the candidate's and family's availability. Ideal for someone looking for a meaningful and rewarding long-term role with a stable, supportive family. Pay is competitive and negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
