Location: North Calgary / Airdrie, Alberta



Contract Term: September 2026 - June 2029 (36 months)

Salary:

$90,000 - $100,000

(plus potential performance bonuses)

Position Summary



We are seeking an Alberta-certified teacher with elite-level hockey coaching experience to join our Academy full-time. This hybrid role combines daily academic oversight with on-ice skills development and off-ice conditioning for U13-U18 student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities



Academic Leadership (AM Block - Mon-Thu)



Supervise, support, and tutor student-athletes enrolled in accredited Alberta online schooling programs.

Monitor attendance, assignment completion, and academic performance.

Liaise with online school instructors, parents, and Academy staff to ensure student success.

Hockey Development (PM Block - Mon-Thu)



Deliver high-quality on-ice skills sessions twice per week (Mon & Wed).

Run off-ice conditioning, mobility, and video review sessions twice per week (Tue & Thu).

Provide individual player feedback and progress tracking.

Collaborate with team head coaches to integrate skill development with team systems.

Program & Player Development



Mentor student-athletes in leadership, time management, and sportsmanship.

Participate in tournaments, showcases, and travel events as required.

Support the Academy's mission and culture on and off the ice.

Qualifications



Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (secondary level preferred; all grades considered).

Hockey Canada NCCP Development 1 or higher (HP1 preferred).

Demonstrated experience coaching U13-U18 hockey players at elite levels.

Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles for youth athletes.

Strong organizational, communication, and mentoring skills.

Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Respect in Sport / Safe Sport certified (or willing to complete prior to start).
