Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our financial services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate tax returns for individuals and small businesses, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment where precision, analysis skills, and familiarity with various accounting software are essential. The Tax Preparer will play a vital role in helping clients optimize their financial situations through thorough tax analysis and preparation.

Duties



Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individual and business clients with accuracy and attention to detail Analyze financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and bank statements to gather necessary information for tax filings Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other bookkeeping tools to organize financial data Conduct account reconciliation to ensure all records are accurate and complete Assist clients with tax planning strategies to optimize deductions and credits Review financial records for auditing purposes and ensure compliance with current tax laws Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax regulations and software updates Provide excellent customer service by explaining complex tax issues clearly and professionally Support clients with additional financial services such as payroll, accounts payable, budgeting, investment analysis, and bookkeeping as needed

Experience



Previous experience in tax preparation or accounting is preferred Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other accounting tools is highly desirable Strong analysis skills for reviewing financial data and identifying discrepancies or opportunities for savings Experience with auditing processes and account reconciliation techniques Knowledge of financial services such as payroll management, accounts payable, budgeting, and investment analysis is a plus Ability to handle multiple client files efficiently while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality Prior experience working with accounting software or bookkeeping platforms will be advantageous

Job Type: Seasonal
Contract length: 5 months

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
