POSITION SUMMARY - Experienced Tax Preparer
This role works closely with the Tax Manager and other team members, providing support to tax returns for clients. Twin Tax by Pinkney is looking to add an experienced Tax Preparer to the team for an initial full-time 3
-month contract.
The Tax Preparer reports to the Tax Manager.
Start date: On or about Feb. 10, 2026
Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Tax Preparer is responsible for the following:
Tax Preparer
Calculating tax returns based on the client's income and expenses.
Reviewing financial records and adjusting as needed.
Analyzing deductible expenses and credits to maximize the client's return.
Review data on reports and detect possible errors.
Answer tax and finance related questions.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate has at least three
(7) years of successful experience
in a client-facing Tax Preparer role at a similar-sized organization in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates for the role of Experienced Tax Preparer must demonstrate the following:
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Tax Management
Demonstrated success in preparing and executing tax filing services, including personal and small business tax returns.
Experience leading client engagements.
Proficiency and knowledge with tax preparation software
Knowledge of CRA, federal and provincial legislation in relation to tax.
Communications
Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Flawless oral and written communications.
Comfortable engaging individuals of different backgrounds, tailoring delivery to audience (clients, employees, Partners and CRA).
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and experience with OneNote optional but valued.
Bookkeeping (asset but not required)
Demonstrated success in preparing and executing bookkeeping services.

EDUCATION
A diploma in business administration, or equivalent, combined with professional development in a related field (business, finance, accounting or similar) is required.
A university degree in a related field (business, finance, accounting or similar) combined with an accounting designation is considered an asset, but not required.
Tax Preparer hourly rate: $30-$35 an hour depending on experience and qualifications.
