Tax Manager

We have industry experience in Indigenous services, automotive dealerships, medical professionals, legal professionals, insurance brokerages, not-for-profits, hospitality and tourism, real estate, construction, retail, and others.Our growing Winnipeg office is a modern, newly renovated facility, situated in the vibrant downtown Sports Hospitality and Entertainment District.We have strong community roots and believe in providing our clients with high quality personalized services. Baker Tilly will help you achieve more than what was thought possible.Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Working closely with partners and other senior staff to develop and implement effective strategies and tax planning assignments
• Performing technical research, and developing and documenting tax plan recommendations
• Managing a portfolio of tax services clients
• Reviewing tax returns and other tax work prepared by staff
• Identifying and cultivating new sales and/or client service opportunities
• Managing engagement financials including budgets, WIP, variances and billing
• Mentoring, training, and developing staff
• Compiling feedback on staff performance throughout the year and conducting regular performance reviews
• Leading practice and professional development initiatives

A successful candidate will have:

• CPA designation
• Experience working in public practice accounting
• At least two years in a tax specialty role
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining trusted advisor relationships
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, mentor and develop others to build high performing teams
• Project management skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset
• Business development skills are an asset
