About the Role
Onus Talent is seeking a Tax Manager on behalf of a client. The Tax Manager will be an integral part of the taxation team, reporting directly to the Senior Tax Manager. This full-time role involves overseeing junior staff (team size of 2), ensuring tax compliance, strategizing tax planning, and integrating corporate and personal tax services.
Responsibilities
Tax Planning & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with Canadian tax laws and regulations.
• Develop tax strategies to optimize clients tax positions.
• Prepare and review corporate, personal, and other tax filings.

Client Engagement:

• Collaborate with clients to gather relevant tax information.
• Provide expert tax advisory services to a diverse clientele.
• Develop and maintain robust client relationships, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.

Leadership & Team Management:

• Supervise and mentor junior tax team members.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and professional development within the team.

Technical Expertise:

• Stay updated with the ongoing changes in tax legislation and policies.
• Implement advanced tax software and tools for efficient compliance and reporting.
• Contribute to the development of new tax services and products.

Requirements and Skills
Educational Background:

• Must have Canadian CPA designation.
• Preferably pursuing or completing a CPA In-depth Tax course.
• Degree in a relevant field in Accounting/Finance

Professional Experience:

• Current work experience at another CPA firm in Canada is essential.
• Expertise in Canadian Tax, particularly with private companies (tax planning, compliance, returns, strategy) is required.
• Solid understanding of both corporate and personal tax.
