This is a fully remote cloud based position and only for applicants living in the Greater Vancouver Lower Mainland area.

We're looking for a Part-Time to Full-Time Tax Associate who enjoys optimizing tax for clients. You're detailed oriented and yet pragmatic to meet deadlines. Known to be reliable, you come with a good understanding of the Canadian personal and coroprate tax. You have some public practice experience and are eager to grow into a tax professional, with possibly partnership and business ownership goals. You are entrepreneurial and enjoy working in a dynamic environment.

WHAT WOULD I BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
Independently prepare and file T1, T2, and T3 tax returns, compute taxes owed, and complete other compliance slips and year-end tax forms (e.g., T3, T4, T5, NR4).
Prepare foreign reporting forms, including T1134 and T1135, with minimal supervision.
Handle compilation engagement tasks, such as preparing year-end journal entries and providing bookkeeping services as needed.
Assist in compiling working paper support for CRA reviews and audits related to income tax and excise tax filings.
Draft correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations highlighting key findings from client engagements.
Manage client communications, including responding to inquiries, directing calls, sending correspondence, and greeting clients professionally.
Support tax managers with research, analysis, and project execution
Assist with research, preparation and filing of government sales tax reports
Other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
Ideally 3-5 years of experience in practicing Canadian income tax in a public practice
At minimum a university degree and CPA enrolment or designation
Must be Canadian resident with SIN and apply for Canada Revenue Agency RepID
Strong systems and computer experience with QuickBooks/XERO, MS Word, Excel and a cloud suite like Office 365/Google Suite
Methodical mindset with ability to manage several accounts/duties concurrently
Attention to detail with an analytical mindset to autonomously prioritize tasks
Organized and process oriented
Strong communication and team skills
REMOTE WORK ARRANGEMENT
Must be physically located and can work in Canada.
Yay! You get to work from home as we are an entirely remote firm! You are expected to have the appropriate arrangements (internet, workspace, etc.) to focus on work at home. Occasionally, you may visit a client or co-work with our team. We'll provide you the equipment and training to ensure you succeed in your role.
