The right individual will have 5-10 years of experience in Canada preparing individual and corporate income tax returns and year-end financial statements. The Tax Accounting Manager will be a highly motivated self-starter, having solid communication and analytical skills and will operate as a trusted member of our team propelling our business growth. Most importantly, the right candidate will create exceptional partnering relationships with clients and share their knowledge and expertise with ease ensuring every client interaction adds the highest level of value.

The Role and Responsibilities

The Tax Accounting Manager role brings together the skill and expertise of a well-seasoned accounting and tax professional with the relationship-building skills of a thoughtful team member. This hands-on role will:

? Take part ownership of our corporate tax portfolio - directly managing a variety of client accounts with varied and complex corporate tax needs

? Problem-solve more complex issues and tax-related questions independently, researching and creating innovative solutions to client issues

? Take part ownership of our personal income tax portfolio - reviewing completed returns and providing final sign-off

? Create a value-added approach by engaging in strategic tax planning and structuring advice to support the client's needs

? Ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner, on budget, and with the highest level of accuracy

? Work with all members of the team to support client work, sharing knowledge and expertise that adds value and creates incredible working relationships

The Technical Requirements

The successful applicant for the Tax Accounting Manager role needs a high level of technical knowledge coupled with the ability to apply that skill to finalize jobs for clients, including:

? Preparing Compilation Engagements
? Preparing Income Tax Returns for Corporations and Individuals

? Preparing Tax Planning Figures and Analysis.
? Oversee and manage deadlines for all clients
? Deep understanding and the ability to advise on tax minimization strategies
? Expertise in the following software:

CaseWare; Xero (Tax Cycle); QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online; Sage 50 Microsoft and Google Products Ability to adapt and learn other apps and technology used by the firm - ie: Zoom, Adobe, etc.
Education & Experience

? 5 - 10 years experience working in Canada in a public practice completing corporate and personal income tax returns, with 1 - 3 years experience in a review-based position
? Canadian Bachelor's degree or Ontario College Advanced Diploma in accounting

? A solid understanding of Canadian accounting and taxation principles
? Excellent project management and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple competing priorities
? Comfortable working in an environment with a high degree of independence

? Demonstrated experience working with Intermediate and Junior Bookkeepers in a mentorship role
? The ability to communicate effectively online, on the phone, via email, and through other digital platforms

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
