Robert Half has an exciting opportunity for a Hands-on Accounting Manager for a Markham client. The ideal candidate will possess practical accounting skills, experience in inventory management, and the ability to lead a team in a collaborative work environment. This role requires close interaction with warehouse operations, handling transactional processes, and providing mentorship to staff. This is a 10-12 month contract, and working arrangement is 5 days onsite.
Accounting & Financial Oversight:
Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
Prepare and submit tax reports, including HST compliance and submissions.
Manage customer deposits and reconciliation processes effectively.
Hands-on involvement in managing transactional accounting functions across Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Credit.
Prior experience with payroll duties using ADP Workforce Now (WFN) is an asset.
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory controls and processes, ensuring accurate tracking and reconciliation of transactions.
Manage and address issues related to shipments, including investigating delays or missing deliveries with the warehouse team.
Coordinate sales orders associated with purchase orders and trouble-shoot discrepancies.

Strong leadership capabilities to foster team growth and problem-solving.
Basic to intermediate proficiency in Excel, Outlook, MS Office Suite, and Teams.
Accounting designation or equivalent experience (flexible).
Proven foundational accounting experience, with the ability to dive into detail-oriented tasks.
Prior experience in inventory management in a B2B environment.
Knowledge of NetSuite accounting system is a must.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll processing is a significant asset.
