Identify clients' financial goals and objectives Plan, set up and administer accounting systems Ensure accuracy and compliance to accounting standards, procedures and internal control Prepare financial information for individuals, departments or companies Prepare reports and audit findings Recommend improvements to accounting systems and management practices Conduct field audits of businesses to ensure compliance with provisions of the Income Tax Act, the Canadian Business Corporations Act or other statutory requirements Prepare income tax returns from accounting records Examine accounting records Provide financial, business and tax advice Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems Oversee payroll administration Audit accounting records to determine income, exemptions, payable taxes, compliance with reporting regulations and existence of fraud Provide expertise in response to clients needs
